Funny, steamy and utterly UNSCRUPULOUS!!!The Manhattanites reminded me a little of Gossip Girl, the rich and famous. There is a fair share of drama, a little debauchery and a ton of fashion. a stalking ex fiancé, Taddy’s trust issues, and a seemingly cold mother. There are a few twists and turns in the story i.e. These two meet by chance at one of Warner’s 5 star resorts and as it usually goes with these types of novels, the chemistry is palpable. He is a man of integrity and knows exactly what he wants. He too has had many life experiences that cause him to give pause when it comes to matters of the heart. Warner is a handsome, widow who just happens to be a billionaire. She is also a little damaged from her past experiences, especially her childhood and that causes her to build up this. Like so many strong women, she is seen as a force to be reckoned with in business, but she does have a softer side. What I did like in this book is that there is a softer side to Taddy. I am a jean and t-shirts gal so high fashion is over my head. I have to admit that I am not a fasionista and that may be why Taddy and I did not gel well. I will admit that I have not read that book so that maybe required in order to truly enjoy this book. This is a prequel to the author’s book Undressed. Overall I liked the book, but I couldn’t connect to it. Review 1: Unscrupulous has taken me forever to read and even longer to review.
